1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using uListen AI (“uListen”, “the extension”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the extension.

2. Description of Service

uListen AI is a free Chrome extension that makes YouTube podcasts searchable and memorable. The extension provides the following features for supported podcast episodes:

  • Crystal Clear Captions – Speaker-labeled captions with word-by-word highlighting, displayed directly on the video player
  • At a Glance – AI-generated summaries including key takeaways, notable quotes, and an executive summary
  • Jump to Any Word – Searchable, full-text transcripts with click-to-seek and chapter navigation
  • Smart Controls – Playback enhancements including 10-second skip, Skip Intro, Skip Ad, and Next Chapter buttons
  • Podcast Catalog – A browsable directory of 5,600+ supported podcast episodes across multiple channels

The service is provided “as is” and may be modified or discontinued at any time.

3. Supported Content

uListen AI works on pre-processed podcast episodes, not all YouTube videos. The extension currently supports 5,600+ episodes from selected podcast channels. On unsupported videos, the extension button remains visible but content features (summaries, transcripts, captions) are unavailable. The podcast catalog is always accessible.

We add new episodes and channels regularly but do not guarantee support for any specific video or channel.

4. Free Service

uListen AI is free to use. All current features, including captions, summaries, transcripts, smart controls, and the podcast catalog, are available at no cost and require no account or sign-up. We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features in the future, but existing free features will remain free.

5. AI-Generated Content

Summaries, transcripts, speaker identifications, and segment detection (intros, ads, chapters) are generated using AI. While we strive for accuracy:

  • Summaries are interpretive and may not capture every nuance of the original content
  • Transcripts are high-accuracy but may contain errors, particularly with technical terms, names, or cross-talk
  • Speaker identification is automated and may occasionally misattribute dialogue
  • Segment boundaries (intros, ads) are approximate and may not match exactly

AI-generated content should not be treated as a definitive record. When precision matters, refer to the original video.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the extension for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use the extension to collect data about other users
  • Redistribute or resell the extension or its content
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract transcripts or summaries

7. Intellectual Property

The uListen AI extension, including its code, design, and AI-generated content, is owned by uListen AI. The underlying audio and video content belongs to the original content creators. Transcripts, summaries, and other derived content are generated for personal use within the extension and should not be reproduced or distributed without permission from the original content owners.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The extension is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Captions, transcripts, or summaries will be 100% accurate
  • The service will be available for all videos or channels
  • Segment detection (intros, ads) will be perfectly timed
  • The service will meet your specific requirements

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, uListen AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the extension, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.

10. Third-Party Services

The extension operates on YouTube, which is a service owned by Google. Your use of YouTube is subject to Google's Terms of Service. We are not affiliated with Google or YouTube. The extension fetches data from our servers (api.ulisten.ai) to provide its features.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service at any time, without prior notice, for any reason.
